Jim-the-Cop (or Jim-the-Cop’d) verb 1. To spill one’s beverage on oneself. 2. To spill beer in an effort to gain an advantage in a chugging contest. 3. To physically take a spill (fall) while intoxicated.
Examples:
- I overfilled my nephew’s sippy-cup and he Jim-the-Cop’d on his bib.
- After they noticed that she Jim-the-Cop’d in the chugging contest, three seconds was added to her time and her title was revoked.
- I didn’t realize I drank so much, but when I stood up and walked to the bathroom, I Jim-the-Cop’d and wound up on my ass in front of my wife’s parents.
Origin: “Three Sheets” with Zane Lamprey
Jim-the-Cop, Jim Reisinger, is another one of my buddies. In the Puerto Rico episode, Jim tagged along (it’s not like he had a job to go to). So, I dragged him into the show and beat him in a chugging contest. I beat him. He was invited back to the New York Pub Crawl episode and given a shot at redemption. After chugging, some other friends of mine, who were sitting in the background (my best friends growing up; Mark Bartlett and Jeff Foster) pointed out that Jim spilled his beer all down his chest. And the expression “Jim-The-Cop” was born.
