Zane Lamprey, Host of FLN's "Three Sheets," celebrates Zanetoberfest in NYC
Oktoberfest is on us once again, and there are plenty of celebrations throughout the city. But ZANEtoberfest, brought to you by Zane Lamprey, host of Fine Living Network's "Three Sheets" is an institution not to be missed. The event this year is Saturday, October 3 (German Unity Day) at M2 (formerly Mansion).
"Basically, I get to go to bars all over the world, and people join me vicariously through the show," Lamprey says. "But with this event, I want to give people a chance to experience what I do. Basically we bring Oktoberfest to New York City, and there's really no better place to throw a party."Lamprey says he expects about 1,000 attendees (the space holds about 2,700) for the Saturday night beer blast. A red carpet greets each partygoer, and Zane will be on hand to meet and greet as many as possible. Spaten beer, one of the sponsors (Jaegermeister is the other), is providing each guest with a 1-liter beer mug (theirs to keep).
"We want to make the experience as much like being at Oktoberfest in Munich, and you can't drink beer out of those little plastic cups," says Lamprey. "You just can't."
The event--which takes place from 1p to 5pm (noon for VIPs)--also features live oompah music from the Ja Ja Jahs, some standup from Lamprey (he's also a standup comedian, something that developed from the show) and other brew-fueled activities.
"It's all just for fun," says Lamprey. "As we get into our adult lives, there is less and less opportunity to just really enjoy ourselves. This is one of those opportunities."Source: Examiner.com
