The Ski Patrol Dinner at Goose Island is sold out. But, there are currently still about 30 VIP tickets and plenty of general admission tickets left. The venue is huge.
This is going to be an AMAZING party! The Oompah ban, Die Musikmeisters, who's name translates into The Music Masters, but sounds like a group that hunts Mickey Mouse Club members, will be playing at the fest. They're amazing-- although the tuba guy refuses to look at the camera during photos and instead fiddles with his mouthpiece.
Spaten Bier, which you'll find at the real Oktoberfest in Munich, will be bringing in kegs to keep the German beer flowing (although the bar is open for other beer and booze as well-- which is included in the $75 ticket price). Spaten is also helping to decorate the place to make it look like an authentic Oktoberfest beer tent (at least as much as a few flags and banners will allow).
Steve McKenna will be dressed like a beer wench... Gimme a moment... Sorry, that image just made me vomit in my mouth.
...OK, I'm back...
I'll be in lederhosen. For some reason they ride up my ass and give me a wicked wedgie (a camel butt), but they're as festive as a mo-fo, so I'll suffer for the party. Truthfully, after some Jager, the discomfort will subside.
And, we'll preview a cut of an episode from our new show "Drinking Made Easy in Chicago" which won't air until December 22nd! (the show premiers on October 6 on HDNet, but the Chicago episode is the 12th in the season).
I'm getting too excited. I gotta go. I'm going to drink a beer and eat a Nürnberger bratwurst.
PROST!
