Tuesday night, after a two full days of shooting in San Diego (Pacific Beach Shore Club, Noble Experiment, La Puerta, Pizza Port, Ballast Point, and Stone), the buses pulled up to my house in LA. We'd been living on the tour buses since April 30th, when we opened the show at the House of Blues in Anaheim.
We unloaded all of our stuff (and an unbelievable amount of beer, wine and booze that we'd acquired over the last three months) and everyone went home-- except for Steve, who spent the night. The guest room was made up, but he decided (or, it was decided for him) to pass out on the couch. I was in bed by 1am.
Then, yesterday (Wednesday), the crew met back up and shot in LA (Musso & Frank in Hollywood, Paradise Cove in Malibu & Manna Korean BBQ and Eagle Rock Brewery). We shot a full day in LA last week (Blue Palms & El Carmen) , but had to leave for Vegas that night after doing a show at the House of Blues, Hollywood.
Today I woke up at 6am and hopped a flight to Vegas. We shot a full day when we were in Vegas last week (Ghost Bar, Planet Hollywood Casino, Freakin' Frog & The Peppermill) , after performing at the House of Blues, Las Vegas, but we had to leave that night for two performances in San Diego. After the shoot today (Double Down, Aces & Ales and Sin City Brewing), the crew stayed the night (I'm sure they're getting their groove on somewhere on The Strip as I write this), I flew back to LA and Steve took the red-eye home to New York.
So, after 84 days of shooting and performing around the country, without a break, we're done. My crew was stellar. They all went above-and-beyond what was originally asked of them. Thank you (in alphabetical order) Eric, Erik, Fiver, Gio, Karen, Josh, Justin, Marc, Mel, Sam, Scooter, Scott, Steve, Tad, Travis, Trevor, and Wes!
Now it's up to us to put all of the footage together. It was an amazing journey. We learned a lot. We saw a lot. We met a lot of people. We drank a lot. Was it "easy"? No... Was it fun? Yes. Would I do it again? Ask me when I wake up in a few days...
"Drinking Made Easy", catch 24 episodes this fall on HDNet!
